Our Supported Child Development program is based on three key principles: Family Centered Practice, Inclusion and Optimal Child Development. This community based program offers services to children from birth to 12 years of age that require extra support in child care settings.
What does it take to be a Supported Child Development Consultant?
You are energetic, fun, flexible, and have a passion for working with children and their families. Your education and experience give you the background to competently work directly with children, families, early childhood educators and professionals, as well as facilitate meetings to develop individual plans for children. You have solid communication skills and are able to support children, parents, and professionals to advocate for children and youth who require extra support. You believe in a family-centered approach to empower children and families to reach their goals and be active members in our community.
Role Requirements: You must have a post-secondary degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, or a Diploma in Early Childhood Education with Special Needs Certificate. Three years of related experience in a related field or the equivalent in education and experience is also required.
