We are looking to add a new member to our team of positive, compassionate, and hardworking individuals.
The Habitat ReStore in Sechelt has a long and respected history of providing the Sunshine Coast with services such as donation pickup/purchase delivery from our location on Warf Avenue in downtown Sechelt. We carry an array of home and hardware items (plus some other fun finds) both new and gently used from generous locals and corporate donors. The nature of this work is in support of Habitat for Humanity Sunshine Coast’s mission to provide locals with affordable housing opportunities. Many friendly faces come through this store between regular customers and our amazing volunteers.
Responsibilities:
Driver
- Coordinate the days’ pickups/drop-offs in the morning with the customers of that weekday’s area of service
- Load/unload furniture etc. with driver partner
- Record information related to these processes clearly and accurately
- Execute ferry day trips to the North Shore/Squamish/Powell River for pickups from our corporate donors
Donor Relations
- Assessing, accepting, and processing fresh donations
- Occasional cash handling
- Organizing/arranging items and shipments into relevant areas for ease of customer experience
- Light use of new software, Findjoo, entering donor information for tax receipt purposes
- Receiving emails of photos related to prospective donations and responding accordingly and cordially
Qualifications:
- Physical capacity to lift/carry around 50lbs.+ for extended periods of time
- Basic cash handling and computer competency
- Class 5 (full license)
- Clean drivers abstract
