The ocean amidst the Emerald Sea along our beautiful Pacific Northwest Coastline is home to some amazing marine life. As bountiful as the life may allude to, our PNW waters marine life actually have quite the way of deceiving the untrained eye by camouflaging into its surroundings. This usually goes on to defraud many cold water scuba divers thinking they’ve seen nothing or “not much at all” just to in fact freeze their butts off on a local dive. Our scuba diving branch of the developing SEA Community is looking for an epic fish ID, cold water enthusiasts to join our Divemaster Candidate program.
If you’re ever in wonder about the underwater world we’ll assist you on your path to entering a profession that can lead to endless worldly opportunity.

The Candidate to the Divemaster program will work closely with a PADI Scuba Instructor to gain dive knowledge, learn how to safely supervise and become a role model to divers around the world. Over a three month period and up to 60 logged dives, you will fine tune your dive skills like buoyancy, air consumption and refine your rescue skills to anticipate and easily solve common problems.

As a Padi Divemaster you will supervise scuba diving activities and assist in diver training. Whether you want to work in faraway dive destination or continue in your local dive shop, the adventure of a lifetime awaits you.

Who may enroll;
PADI Rescue Divers who are at least 18 years old may enroll in the PADI Divemaster Program. You will also need to have,
Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) training within the last 24 months.
A medical statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months.
At least 40 logged dives to begin the course and earn another 60 to earn certification.

Did you know? That in Canada
The British Columbia Ministry of Education (External Credentials Program for Industrial and Occupational Courses) has approved these courses for school credit: PADI Open Water Diver course (2 credits), PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course (4 credits) and PADI Rescue Diver (4 credits). Grade 10, 11 and 12 students simply present their PADI certification cards to the school administration to apply for credit.


As this program is time extensive and space is limited, we’re looking for candidates who are serious in their Divemaster status.

What Will You Learn?
The PADI Divemaster course teaches you to be a leader and take charge of dive activities. Through knowledge development sessions, water skills exercises and workshops, and hands-on practical assessment, you develop the skills to organize and direct a variety of scuba diving activities.

The role and characteristics of the PADI Divemaster
Supervising dive activities and assisting with student divers
Diver safety and risk management
Divemaster conducted programs and specialized skills
Business of diving and your career
Awareness of the dive environment
Dive setup and management
Mapping an open water site

Organizing a search and recovery project and a deep dive
Conducting a scuba review and skin diver course
Assisting with Discover Scuba Diving and leading Discover Local Diving programs

Necessary Equipment:
We as professional divers at SEA Community understand the limitations of a young adult. Some of the equipment you will need over time may be provided for you at a rental cost until you “own” the rental of its value. We’re a community, we want to find success together :)
