Beautifully crafted and one of a kind, this 24 ish foot sailboat comes with trailer.
The Boat:
Epoxy-fiberglass over wood. This is a keelless boat with a semi-planing hull that has been widened for buoyancy with airfoil shaped leeboards. It's likely unsinkable. Everything installed, works well.
- Ducati (Wisconsin) center mounted diesel engine, with Volvo-Penta outdrive and generator. The engine starts well and has probably only a couple of hours on it. Drive and transmission are connected and working.
- Fully functioning electrics, including generator (In fact, other than a few small things it's ready to go into the water.)
- The sail is also a marvel, but hasn't made it past the testing stage. It is a variable camber wing sail. It's very clever, but might not be to everyone's taste. That said, this boat would easily suit a junk rig.
- A working built-in Fridge/freezer.
- A macerating toilet.
- Boat weight is approximately one ton.
As the photos show, the front and rear hatches close, allowing the boat and trailer to fit into a garage.
This boat should be VERY fast for it's size.
What's Missing?
There is no safety gear yet, and while the boat could go into the water as a motor boat immediately, some of the rigging would need to be mounted depending on choice of sail - the current sail is ready to go, but it is for testing and not permanent. There are also no cushions yet.
The Trailer:
The trailer is steel frame, tandem axle made specifically for the boat, but could easily adapted for other things.
This is a very special boat and I really hate to sell, but I can't stay in Canada to put it into the water.
